As the first half of 2026 draws to a close, several confirmed veteran art events and milestones mark the period.
The 2025 NVAM Artist Fellow Jenn Hassin’s solo exhibition at the National Veterans Art Museum closes with a reception on June 13, 2026. The exhibition spans ten years of work and 27 mixed media pieces. Her work has been covered nationally and her practice centers on transforming donated military uniforms and materials into handmade paper, ceramics, and installations.
The 2026 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival opens June 9–14 in Columbia, South Carolina, co-presented by the VA and the American Legion Auxiliary.
The 2026 Veteran Art Triennial, “Resisting the Long Wars,” continues at the Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago Cultural Center, and Elmhurst Art Museum in Chicago.
The Patriot Art Foundation has featured veteran artists Gladys Lawrence (April 10) and Mike Henry (April 15) and highlighted Suzanne Accetta’s “Mending a Heart” exhibition (March 27). Watercolor Boot Camp registration for the next session closes July 7, 2026.
The NVAM Veteran Arts Database continues as a resource for veteran artists seeking grants, residencies, programs, and organizations. It is available at nvam.org/vad.
